The BBKL also contains articles compiled from popular calendars of saints. The Biographisch-Bibliographisches Kirchenlexikon (BBKL) is a German language biographical encyclopedia covering persons related to the history of the church, philosophy and literature. It was founded in 1975 by Friedrich Wilhelm Bautz and features over 20,000 articles.
