The Biographisch-Bibliographisches Kirchenlexikon (BBKL) is a German language biographical encyclopedia covering persons related to the history of the church, philosophy and literature. It was founded 1975 by Friedrich Wilhelm Bautz and features over 20,000 articles.

Articles contain a biography, an account of the development of the person’s work, and a bibliography as well as a selection of secondary literature.

In addition to the scholarly contributions, the BBKL also contains articles compiled from popular calendars of saints.
